OPAM 2014 ~ August 2014

August is usually the month when we take our annual holiday ~ not this year ~ we've already been home from our trip for over a month now and it feels like a very distant memory.
I have only one finish this month and unfortunately I cannot share any pictures as it is for an exchange ~ reveal date is not until late next month.

I can tell you that my finished piece has an Autumnal theme as part of a Four Seasons Exchange on the Needlecraft Haven Yuku Group ~ it's the second time that I have participated in this year long exchange.

Here's hoping that I can squeeze at least one finish in next month.

OPAM 2014 ~ June 2014

Well another month, another challenge to report ~ I completely ran out of time to report my OPAM in May, I only had one finish which was originally to be an exchange piece and then I had a change of heart about it.
This month I have three whole finishes to report ~ I can only share one with you at the moment as item 2 is an exchange piece and opening day is tomorrow, and item 3 is a gift.  So here is the one project I can share with you at the moment:

This is a bag from a class at my LQS Just Quilting on Saturday last week, I completed it on Sunday.  I thoroughly enjoyed the day, it was a small group ~ 2 of us doing part 1 and 2 working on part 2 of a "how many things to make from a jelly roll" class.  I think that Hazel (teacher) had made 10 items in total, lots of bags, case for a rotary cutter, glasses case, tissue covers ~ there are a couple of the other things that I will make at some point.

Happy OPAMing

OPAM 2014 ~ April 2014

Well another month is drawing to a close and I have little in the way of finishes to share ~ or ~ just the one!
This is my completed RSVP acceptance for my Niece's wedding.
It's part of a Bent Creek design called love.  Stitched on Sparklies 28ct Oatmeal Cashel Linen.
I'm delighted that it has been very well received.

I'm close to a finish with another piece and should manage it before the end of the month ~ if not, it will roll into May's tally.
Till next time.

OPAM 2014 - March 2014

Well, after all my enthusiasm for getting multiple finishes for March I have in fact only got one ~ and at the moment I can't share any details on it as it's an exchange piece and I need to wait for confirmation that my partner has received it.
Nevertheless, it is still a finish so it qualifies!
I have a number of pieces that are getting close to being finished ~ many of them relate to a wedding so I am uncertain about sharing pictures until I know things have been opened.  I don't think that the recipients read my blog but I wouldn't like to take chances and spoil the surprise.  At least one of them will be opened next month so I can be certain of at least one picture to share with you all.
My Needlecraft Haven Monthly Challenge piece for March didn't really get going as I decided that with the other commitments I have I would be exposing myself to messing up others things that needed to take priority.

OPAM 2014 ~ January

I'm sure that many would agree with me that we all need a little incentive ~ or in my case a swift kick up the backside ~ to get things finished.  To that end I have signed up for OPAM 2014 hosted by Peg & Kris.
The aim is to finish at least one craft project a month ~ it doesn't have to be a start from scratch project, it can be a WIP, a UFO, a new start ~ pretty much anything goes as long as it is a soft craft made from fabric/thread/wool in any combination.  There are a number of guidelines which you can find via either of the links above ~ #11 is my favourite as it specifies that all participants MUST have fun.  At the end of the day that is what our hobby should be about.

So in January I had fun, unfortunately I can't share pictures of all the fun yet as some are gifts:

A tiny Christmas ornament

The Sheep Day by The Little Stitcher
January Challenge on Needlecraft Haven Yuku Group

I'll be trying to stitch the challenge each month so hopefully will have a new batch of ornaments ready for this coming Christmas.

I have also finished a couple of things that I can't share pictures of as they are gifts which haven't yet reached their new homes ~ 1 is a small pillow finish and the other a wall hanging.  I should be able to share these finishes next week.

Here's a picture of the back of my ornament.
I need to work out how to add a list of my finishes into the sidebar ~ until I do you can find my list on the OPAM 2014 page tab near my blog header.

I'm pleased with my three finishes this month and plan to have 3 more next month, possibly 4.  I know it's a long way off but I'm really looking forward to seeing the final tally at the end of the year!
