Brown/Blue Spotty

Eventually....

...... I have discovered that:
  • I am not alone in experiencing difficulties posting pictures to Blogger
  • my version of IE is not compatible with Blogger
  • Chrome is compatible with Blogger

Wouldn't it be nice if they told you what the issue was instead of just not working!  Rant over.

I can now share with you what I made and received in our Tuesday Stitching Group's Secret Santa.
Firstly

I received this gorgeous project bag from Sylvia ~ it's made with beautiful linen and lined with a pale green linen check fabric.  It has an inside pocket that had a tape measure in it and it also has a lobster key clasp that I can attach my scissors to.  I love it!

I made this cushion for Norma ~ it's from a design by Kelly Fletcher called Christmas Tree that I discovered on Craftsy.  Stitched on Moda dot fabric with good old DMC ~ to ensure that it's washable, just in case.  Finished as an envelope back cushion with some fabric from my stash that originally came from Just Quilting.
Unfortunately, Norma was not able to be with us for our Secret Santa night so was given her gift a few days later when one of our ladies paid her a visit.

Finally I thought I would share my New Year's Day new start

Doesn't look like much does it?  And it looks upside down, however, it is meant to be.
This is Summer House Pincushion from Blackbird Designs ~ originally I was meant to start this as a SAL with Carol many, many moons ago ~ Carol's has been finished for quite some time now!  I'm using the recommended fabric & thread but have to say that I'm not loving the fabric ~ it's really stiff & harsh ~ so currently it remains as you see it as I have not picked it up again since NYD.

Until next time.

Such a lovely project bag that you received. And a nice cushion that you sent as a gift.
Great choice for your New Year stitching. A BBD is always nice to stitch.

Your secret santa gift turned out so beautiful Kate, lucky lady who received that.
Love the bag that was made for you. I really need to explore more things with my sewing machine.

Blogger has been acting up here again with pics, I've had to save them to the flashstick and go and crank up the laptop so I can post pics on my post for today...took much more time than I had planned for a blog post today!

{hugs} x

Well you have been both lucky and busy! Congrats. I hope the new start brings you many frog-free hours of stitching happiness. :)

I've pretty much switched my entire life over to Chrome in the last two years as my employer also increasingly uses things like gmail, docs, etc! I find google products just don't work so nicely with other browsers.

Lovely gifts both given and received. For over a month now I can't upload photos as before via IE and have to use Crome.

Lovely gifts--given and received! And, your New Year's Day start is going to be a lovely finish. I recently stitched on a piece of fabric that seemed stiff and scratchy--but it got better after working on it for a while.

Lovely new start.

Glad you got sorted with Blogger.

The bag and cushion both look good. I don't enjoy working on stiff fabric either, it takes the joy out of stitching.
I switched to Chrome ages ago and much prefer it to IE

Thank you for your nice comments on my blog, Kate! I'm happy to have found yours. I use Firefox and have no problems with Blogger--hope Chrome works well for your from now on...

Lovely New Year's Day start and what a pretty pillow for Norma! Look forward to visiting again and seeing more of your lovely work :)

I switched to Chrome a few years ago and have never looked back :) Beautiful exchanges! I am not a fan of harsh fabric either and refuse to stitch on it.

I love the lokks of the bag you received as well as the pillow you made. Your new project looks good. One thing I have notice about fabric that is stiff when I start stitching a project: after working it a bit, the fabric softens up.
